Second Selection of Literacy Cards

Young children love to collect brightly colored cards to remember their achievements. Print these on heavy paper and laminate them as well.
Literacy cards are used to motivate young students to complete their assignments. Teachers may wish to assign a point value to each card. Simply write a point value on the back side along with a listing of vocabulary words or alternative assessment of skills accomplished by each individual student.
When students have collected a particular number of cards and/or cards having a certain point values, they may be given extra time in a play center, on the playground, or even a small token such as: a free book, a free bookmark, book bucks or book worm treats.
Teachers may decide to also give a very special card for the accumulation of cards. I will include extra literacy cards under a separate post for these cards.
