Color, Cut & Assemble A Car Mat

A car mat is similar to a road rug with one exception only, it is generally made with paper, canvas or vinyl materials. Here I will index coloring sheets of buildings, roads, people and all kinds of images that your little ones may print out, color in, and paste down to a larger sheet of butcher paper in order to craft their very own road mats. Buildings may be scaled to sizes appropriate for hot wheels cars and/or matchbox cars. (Both made by Mattel)
All coloring pages are drawn by Kathy Grimm and may also be used as patterns for quilting or crafting a textile road rug. However, these designs are for personal, nonprofit use only. Do not include the actual patterns in any other online collections of coloring pages, patterns, or clip art.

A service station would have included both car repair, car care and gasoline during the 1950s. These kinds of gas stations were referred to as "full service" filling stations.

Description of Coloring Pages: three 1950s buildings typically found in the cities and small towns of American and Canada: a service station (gas station), a one-story, modern ranch home with an attached garage and an industrial building, Each building is simple enough to cut out, trace around and fill in the details of a play road mat for young children.

A 1950s modern ranch home with two giant "picture windows" in front and an attached garage.
An industrial building was commonly referred to as "a plant" in the 50s.
One might manufacture anything a child's imagination will allow,

American Patriot Coloring Pages

A few samples of patriotic coloring pages from the listing below.
I will list U. S. A. patriotic coloring pages in the following index. The reason for combining these here is that all of these American holidays cover similar symbolic content and National heroes. The following themes are commonly used at these same holidays: our nation's flag, founding fathers, patriotic music, fireworks, public celebrations, presidents etc...
  • Washington's Birthday was first declared a federal holiday by an 1879 act of Congress. The Uniform Holidays Act, 1968, shifted the date of the commemoration of Washington's Birthday from February 22 to the third Monday in February (between February 15 and 21, meaning the observed holiday never falls on Washington's actual birthday). Because of this, combined with the fact that President Lincoln's birthday falls on February 12, many people now refer to this holiday as "Presidents' Day" and consider it a day honoring all American presidents. However, neither the Uniform Holidays Act nor any subsequent law changed the name of the holiday from Washington's Birthday to Presidents' Day.
  • Celebrates the signing of the Declaration of Independence from British rule, also called the Fourth of July. Fireworks celebrations are held in many cities throughout the nation.
  • Memorial Day honors the nation's war dead from the Civil War onwards; marks the unofficial beginning of the summer season. (traditionally May 30, shifted by the Uniform Holidays Act 1968).
  • Veterans Day honors all veterans of the United States armed forces. It is observed on November 11 to recall the end of World War I on that date in 1918 (major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 when the Armistice with Germany went into effect).
