The eagle captures the viper flourish design...

         Above is a sample of how your eagle and snake could look when they have been completed. It's o.k. if your creatures have more or fewer flourishes etc...  The reason for the exercise here is to inspire young students to practice swirls and curls (flourishing) similar to cursive writing and enjoy themselves in the process of it. The teacher or parent could print out the above sample for their student to look at or post it onto a white board or use this website directly if they have a laptop to access the collections here.

Three step-by-step quill pen flourishes

        Above are three samples of quill pen flourishes. It's o.k. if your quill pens look different from these. Every feather is unique to the little artist drawing it. The reason for the exercise here is to inspire students to practice swirls and curls similar to cursive writing and enjoy themselves in the process of it. The teacher or parent should print out the above sample for their student to look at and include in a penmanship practice book. Fun exercises such as these provide young students with a variety of lessons when learning to write in cursive.
